The photos show different people reading in very different contexts. In the first picture, several adults are sitting in a large library, reading books that they probably chose themselves. They look relaxed and focused, which suggests they are reading for pleasure or personal interest. In another photo, a mother is reading a picture book with her child. It seems like a shared activity, and the child may feel curious and safe. In the classroom image, the children are reading the same book, so it was likely chosen by the teacher. They appear concentrated, although some may feel more motivated than others. In another picture, an older person is reading on a tablet, which suggests independent reading in a digital format.
The image of the library and the one with the tablet relate to my experience. In Spanish, I enjoy reading novels in paper format, especially at night. In English, I usually read online articles or recipes on my tablet. I feel comfortable reading novels in English, but I prefer doing so in Spanish, as I go faster and I fully enjoy the experience. However, I love reading recipes in English, as I use English measures in my kitchen, so I have lots of cooking books in English, but I read on my phone, too.
As I am usually sleepy at night, I prefer reading in the afternoon when I have a spare hour or so.
What about you? When and what do you enjoy reading?
It is good to read texts related to some of your hobbies, as it is the case of cooking. Thanks for sharing your reading habits.
